Exhibit 6Design: This ad was created as part of a company's outreach effort to promote the use of a shuttle for a community event. This ad was sent to the local university's electronic distribution list, and was accompanied by similar versions for Facebook and flyer distribution. I wanted viewers to understand that the Pumpkin Walk is relaxed and fun, and included a silhouette of a couple to suggest the event as a nice outing. In keeping with autumn, oranges and reds make up the bulk of the image with blue accents the same color as the company logo. Repetition from these colors as well as the two constrasting calligraphic and sans serif font harmonize the document. Like information is grouped in close proximity with each other, and interest is created through a gradient and faded background imagery. A strong left alignment draws the eye down through the document.
Process: The image is 1366 x 768 px for the electronic distribution list with 72 dpi. I used a reflective gradient. The calligraphic font is filled with a deep red and accented with an outside stroke. A more opaque red is used for the silhouette figures, and an even more opaque font for the pumpkin brushes. I used the eyedropper tool to match the blue text with the logo.
